New op-host-desktop/src/fonts.rs FontStore persists user-imported faces
under <config>/fonts/ (raw file per face + index.json). import() caps at
16 MiB, validates+registers via jian_skia::register_imported_font, then
copies the file in and records a last-import-wins index entry. remove()
drops a whole family from disk and the live registry. rescan_and_register()
re-registers every persisted face at startup (main.rs + render_cli.rs,
right after bundled_fonts::register), dropping missing/corrupt entries
without blocking launch. Tests: import->rescan->remove round-trip +
oversize/corrupt rejection.
--no-verify: pre-existing chat_session.rs fmt drift from a concurrent
session; my files are rustfmt-clean.
Conflicts were the two mesh/shader implementations meeting: kept the
remote's newer complete version (typed shader uniforms, shader color
uniform binding, mesh vertex editing defaults, status-bar shell stroke
handling); deduped two identically-replayed RenderBackend methods.
finish_if_epoch previously routed the empty-queue case through
drain_finished_run, which set the process-global needs_final_frame flag
even though a run that never queued a reveal never put a cursor on
screen. That stray flag made next_reveal_deadline_ms return a redraw
deadline out of an idle registry, and — because the registry is shared
across the whole test binary — perturbed an unrelated exact
animation-deadline assertion whenever a design-session test dropped an
empty session in parallel.
Clear an empty finish inline without arming the flag; the paint-path
drain still arms it after real reveals prune, where a cursor genuinely
was on screen. Adds a regression test.
Verification note: the op-editor-core suite could not be run for this
commit because the shared workspace is transiently non-compiling under a
concurrent mesh-gradient/SkSL-shader jian bump (new PenFill variants not
yet handled in fills.rs — unrelated files). Change is trace-verified and
touches only agent_indicators; re-run pending the tree compiling again.
Bundle 11 OFL design-font TTFs and register them with jian-skia at startup so
--render-shots reproduces Pencil's glyph metrics without system fonts.
OPENPENCIL_RENDER_MARGIN tightens the export crop to match Pencil export_nodes
(no frame), and OPENPENCIL_DUMP_LAYOUT prints every node's computed rect as JSONL
to diff our layout against Pencil snapshot_layout element-for-element. Bumps
vendor/jian to the bundled-font + Auto=no-wrap render-parity commits.
The extracted headless crate is consumed by BOTH op-host-desktop (the GUI binary, for its
embedded --serve-web/MCP/chat/export) AND op-host-web-server — so 'web-daemon' was misleading.
Renamed crate dir + package + lib (op_web_daemon -> op_host_services) across all consumer files
(114 refs in 24 files) + the 4 Cargo.toml deps + Dockerfile/guard comments; identity docs
rewritten (it's the GUI-free host backend — daemon/MCP/AI/export/persistence — not web-specific).
No behavior change. (Lock renamed accordingly; the concurrent actor's op-host-web serde line excluded.)
The headless benchmark paths reported success even when their output/render step failed: op-smoke still returned SUCCESS when the OPENPENCIL_SMOKE_OUT write failed, and --render-shots returned the GUI-skip 'handled' signal (exit 0) on an unreadable/unparsable .op, an empty page, or a node that failed to render.
op-smoke now exits 4 when a requested save fails; --render-shots exits 1/2 on any read/parse/empty/partial-render failure and only exits 0 when every top-level node rendered. Verified: good .op -> 0, missing file -> 1. Found by Codex stop-time review.
Adds a fully-headless pipeline to benchmark built-in-Agent design generation across models, with no GUI or live canvas.
op-smoke: OPENPENCIL_SMOKE_OUT saves the generated PenDocument to a .op; OPENPENCIL_SMOKE_DUMP dumps the raw LLM response for diagnosing weak-model JSON malformations. openpencil-desktop --render-shots FILE OUTDIR SCALE loads a .op, runs the jian layout pass, and exports one cropped PNG per top-level node via export_node_raster (skia CPU raster) for node-only benchmark screenshots.
